Profile

Marian K. Riedy, a partner at Bode & Grenier, is a trial attorney whose principal area of expertise is representing individual plaintiffs in civil actions arising from catastrophic personal injuries. She has participated as senior counsel in obtaining more than $25 million in verdicts and settlements on behalf of plaintiffs in medical malpractice cases alone. Marian also represents victims of campus violence and abuse, including hazing and sexual assault. In her advocacy against sexual violence and abuse, Marian has served as a “hotline” volunteer for and on the Board of Directors of the District of Columbia Rape Crisis Center, and teaches “Civil Remedies for Victims of Sexual Assault” to DCRCC volunteers and interns.

She has also represented domestic and foreign corporations, nonprofit organizations and foreign agencies in international trade disputes, government contract and general commercial litigation.

She is a member of the Bar in Kansas and the District of Columbia; American Trial Lawyer’s Association; Trial Lawyer’s Association, District of Columbia, Co-Chair, Ethics Committee; the Washington Bar Association; and the Women’s Bar Association. After graduating from Harvard Law School, Ms. Riedy clerked for former Chief Judge Harrison L. Winter, U.S. Court of Appeals, 4th Circuit. Ms. Riedy has been in private practice since her clerkship, except for a three-year stint in the Office of the General Counsel, U.S. Agency for International Development
