Snow Tree Jacket - M
This jacket is made from a woven bedspread, circa 1930s. The pattern is made via a technique called candlewicking, named for the thread it used, originally meant for candle wicks.
Makers wove small sticks into their blankets, removing them afterwards to reveal a pattern of tight loops. A machine-made version of the technique has remained a popular choice for bedspreads and pillowcases. Hand-mending throughout.
- Hidden hook-and-eye closures
