Fern Ivalace Long Sleeve Shirt - L
This shirt is made from a damask tablecloth from the end of the 19th century. The first dye color to be made "colorfast," (that wouldn't run when washed) was a shade called Turkey Red, named for its country of origin and brought to the West in the late 1700s.
The color was wildly popular throughout the 19th century and is commonly found in so-called "redwork" embroidery and damask tablecloths like this one. Hand-mending throughout.
- Boxy fit
- Five front buttons
- Dry clean only
All wear, mending, and idiosyncrasies are unique to the original textile.
