This shirt is made from a vintage piano shawl with fringed hems. By the 1930s, "piano shawl" referred to embroidered lightweight silk shawls with fringe that would be worn by women. While they took their name from the original piano covering shawls of the Victorian era, the newer shawls were influenced both by Spanish and Chinese fashions and motifs. Hand-mending throughout.
