Pale Primrose Dress - S

This dress is made from an antique piano shawl, c.1920s-1930s. These shawls were originally named for decorative piano coverings from the Victorian era, but by the 1930s, the term "piano shawl" had migrated to mean embroidered, fringed shawls worn as accessories. The newer shawls were influenced both by Spanish and Chinese fashions and motifs. Hand-mending throughout.
