This dress is made from peach silk yardage and trimmed with bands of antique filet lace. Filet lace is built off a mesh ground, which is darned with patterns. It is thought to have originated in fishing communities, who adapted their net-making abilities for decorative use. The dress is reversible and can be worn either with an open back or a plunging neckline. Hand-mending throughout.
