These shorts are cut from antique ticking fabric, circa 1900s-1930s. Cotton or linen ticking has historically been used to make mattresses and pillows. The tightly woven fabric made bedding durable and prevented stuffing materials, like straw and down feathers, from poking through. Hand-mending throughout.
