Red Velvetleaf Kids’ Shirt - OS
This shirt is made from scraps of a Turkey red damask tablecloth. The piece dated to the end of the 19th century. Turkey red was the first dye color to be made colorfast—that is, that wouldn't bleed or run when washed—and became extremely popular in all fabrics of the time. Hand-mending throughout.
