When Sandy Stewart, Moose Charlap's wife, came to New York to work as a television singer, she lived in the Barbizon Hotel for Women with other young singers, actresses, and models of the time. This coat, a style from the 1960s, references the wardrobes of those young women. It is embellished with braided trim around the high collar, placket, and cuffs, with turquoise beads worked into the braidwork.
