Field Maple Coat

This coat is inspired by an embroidered quilt from the 1890s-1920s. We reproduced the embroidery pattern in couching—a needlework technique in which a cord is laid in patterns and secured with short, perpendicular stitches. The coat is trimmed along the collar, placket, and pockets with tonal rickrack.
