Rock Candy Cardigan

“Big Rock Candy Mountain,” one of the world’s most famous hobo songs, was a heavy feature in the repertoires of many early cowboy singers. Telling the story of a land of plenty, with “cigarette trees” and “lemonade springs,” “a lake of stew and of whiskey too,” the song was first recorded by Harry McClintock in 1928.
